Millennium Teen Pop Explosion: The resurgence of teen-oriented and often teen-performed dance-pop and ballads, with this batch heavily influenced by Europop, hip-hop and R&B. Initially re-ignited by the Spice Girls in the mid 1990s (though the group is not traditionally considered a part of it), the genre carried over into the early 2000s.
