Near Misses (Part 3 of 3) [Best of 2011]
Posted by ThatsMyJamRadio on December 25, 2011
2011 was a decent year for music, though there was plenty of room for improvement — but we digress. We take pride in That’s My Jam’s Dance, Pop, R&B and Top 10 charts reflecting the best of the best each month, but our end-of-the-year wrap-up never fails to reveal that some songs are elusive and evade charting! Here, we recognize 7 of 21 near misses that should have been on at least one of That’s My Jam’s charts.
Mya feat. Trina
“Earthquake”
Club-ready and body-moving!
JLS feat. Dev
“She Makes Me Wanna”
Skip the lyrics and deal instead with an Ibiza-flavored beat.
Cee-Lo
“Fuck You”
Sometimes, there are no better words.
Marsha Ambrosius
“Late Nights & Early Mornings”
Making Prince proud since 2011.
AlunaGeorge
“You Know You Like It”
We’re not scared of the same (if any) that comes with liking this tune.
Mohombi feat. Nicole Scherzinger
“Coconut Tree”
The islands go to the club.
Beyoncé
“1 + 1″
Adds up to a sexy, stripped-down ballad.

Wow, Beyonce was a near miss list three times in 2011. Doesn’t three misses make a right? I think I am investing in all Beyonce tracks this year to pay homage to the litte baby Jayonce-Z that will be born any minute. And I want to continue her revenue flow throughout her maternity leave. Beyonce is amazing.
